Important Information About the Economic Stimulus Payment
More than 130 million households will begin receiving an economic stimulus payment in May. The vast majority of people who file a 2007 income tax return qualify, and many who don't regularly file a tax return may qualify as well.
Your payment will be issued to you in the same way you received your 2007 tax refund or made payment of taxes owed to the IRS. If you had your refund direct deposited into an account or made your tax payment via automatic debit from your account, your stimulus payment will be direct deposited as well. Otherwise, the IRS will mail you a check.
