International Travel Tips
Planning an international trip?
We know travel can be a stressful experience. That's why we've gathered the following International Travel Tips to help ensure your trip goes as smoothly as possible.
Call us before leaving to alert us of your travel plans and update your contact information, if necessary.
Memorize your PIN before you go. Knowing your PIN will allow you to access cash at ATMs worldwide or obtain a cash advance at banks that honor Visa®. Please note that some international ATMs may withdraw funds from your checking account, even if you specify otherwise. Other ATMs may not allow you to choose from which account to withdraw funds. Please contact us if you experience difficulty with ATM transactions or wish to obtain balance information.
Bringing 2 cards with you (like our Visa Credit Card and CU-Extra® Card) can be helpful if you experience card difficulty. Check the balances of your cards and accounts before you leave.
Know how to contact us. Because toll-free numbers may not always work when calling internationally, keep our local phone number (607-962-3144) handy. You can also visit our website 24/7 to get answers to your questions or to check your account balances, recent transactions, and more using our free Home Banking service. You can also send us an email and we will respond within one business day.
If you experience a card block, decline, or other difficulty, call Corning Credit Union at 607-962-3144. If a Member Service Representative is not available, listen to the automated menu and follow the prompts for assistance.
CCU is taking steps to combat fraud by utilizing a Fraud Prevention Service. Our Fraud Prevention Service enables us to detect any unusual activity on your Visa Credit or Debit (CU-Extra or X-treme) Card or ATM (M.O.M.®) Card.
