Pop-up Blockers
Within Home Banking, the Bill Pay and Check Reorder services open in a new window called
a Pop-up Window. If you have enabled a Pop-up Blocker, the Credit Union's URL address will need to be added to "allow
pop-up from this site." Below you will find some basic instructions for different Pop-up Blocker services.
Please keep in mind if you have installed any browser toolbars, such as Google or Yahoo, you will need to add the
Credit Union's URL address to the "allow pop-up from this site" option as well as your general browser, such as
Internet Explorer, Netscape, etc.
Select the browser and/or toolbar below that you are currently using for instructions:
Internet Explorer Browser
- Microsoft's popup blocker built in to Internet Explorer
- Click on TOOLS, INTERNET OPTIONS, PRIVACY tab, SETTINGS & key in hb.corningcu.org within the address
of website to allow
- Click CLOSE and then click OK
OR
- If you are using this popup blocker and the page is blocked, many times it will indicate that the site
has been blocked below the address bar (the place you type the Web address). If you click on the block
notification, you can then choose the option to allow pop-ups from this site.
Firefox (Mozilla) Browser
To allow our site:
- Click TOOLS and then OPTIONS
- Click ALLOWED SITES next to the Block Popup Windows
- Add the site https://hb.corningcu.org and click ALLOW and click OK and then OK once more
after the window closes and is back to your Web features box.
Google Toolbar
The easiest thing to do to allow our site is the following:
- Hold down the CTRL (control) key and click on the Bill Pay link. The CTRL key needs to stay depressed
for a couple seconds after clicking on the link. This will allow the page to load.
OR
- You can choose the button to allow pop-ups before clicking on Bill Pay. You then need to turn it back on
by clicking on the icon once again to block future pop-ups.
Yahoo! Toolbar
Option 1: Add the source of the pop-up window to your Allowed List
by doing the following:
- Click the Pop-Up Blocker menu
- Select "Always Allow Pop-Ups From..." (IGNORE the arrow pointing to enable the pop-up blocker.)
- Use the arrow that points to always allow pop-ups from. Select the site from the "Sources of Recently
Blocked Pop-Ups" list
- Click "Allow"
This will allow all pop-ups from this web site to appear without further action
Option 2: Press and hold the CTRL key while clicking a link.
This will override the pop-up blocker just for that one click and allow any pop-up
windows resulting from the click to appear. You will have to hold down the CTRL key before clicking the link
every time you click on a link that is currently being blocked.
Option 3: Turn off pop-up blocker by clicking the pop-up blocker
menu and unchecking "Enable Pop-Up Blocker."
This will allow all pop-up windows to appear. If you have done this and the pop-up is
still being blocked, it is not being blocked by Yahoo! Pop-up Blocker. Please check the settings on the other pop-up
blockers installed on your system. You can turn the Pop-Up Blocker back on by selecting "Enable Pop-Up Blocker"
again so that it has a checkmark.
