  • Performing various financial transactions
  • Actively educating members on the products and services that best meet their financial needs

Manager of Software Engineering

Location: Wilmington, NC

CCU is seeking a Manager of Software Engineering. As a member of Corning Credit Union's Software Engineering and Development and IT Management Teams, you will be exposed to a wide variety of cutting-edge technologies and interact with seasoned IT professionals in a tightly integrated and cross-functional team.

Job Description
As the Manager of Software Engineering, you are responsible for managing and contributing to the day-to-day operations of the Software Engineering and Development Department which develops, implements, tests, and maintains custom software systems that support Corning Credit Union’s business objectives. The manager will work with project teams across the organization and will use technology and keen problem solving skills to help implement CCU’s corporate vision. In addition to daily leadership within the department, the manager will be responsible for his/her own projects and must have a strong programming background. An ideal candidate enjoys working with and developing others, along with developing creative solutions for problems, working with other technical and non-technical departments, and has a true passion for different areas of information technology.

Competencies Required

  • Minimum of 5-7 years of software engineering and development experience
  • Minimum 3-5 years of IT staff supervision with new and emerging technologies
  • High-level of integrity, service, positive attitude and dedication
  • Excellent people, organization, communication, and coordination skills
  • Desire to help others learn and grow
  • Excellent trouble-shooting, debugging, and problem-solving skills
  • Strong background in Agile/Scrum framework methodology
  • Must have a working knowledge of technical strategies, business process design, application development, and technical architecture
  • Ability to gather requirements, architect, engineer and develop applications as well as direct a team of engineers and developers
  • Ability to view a problem or solution from an end-user’s or a member’s perspective and put that perspective first
  • Demonstrated proficiency with C#/.NET Application Framework and object-oriented programming concepts
  • Ability to develop MVC.NET web applications and use JavaScript, CSS, HTML
  • Database design and development skills with Microsoft SQL Server
  • Must understand and follow secure development practices to ensure sensitive data is secure from end-to-end
  • Ability to be self-directed and work on group and individual projects
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering is required; however, 5-7 years of related experience in lieu of education will also be considered

Commercial Loan Officer

What you'll do:

  • Maintain knowledge and understanding of businesses and industries in the area.
  • Stay abreast of local and national trends and regulation impacting business members and the commercial lending industry.
  • Identify and develop relationships with existing and potential business members.
  • Regularly participate in community events and network with various associations and trade groups to build our brand and drive the business forward.
  • Develop a commercial loan pipeline, while building a strong overall banking relationship with our members.
  • Manage your loan portfolio through monthly reporting and effective use of the commercial loan origination system.
  • Underwrite loans within your approval authority and prepare and present loan packages to the Member Business Loan Committee.
  • Make referrals to other areas of the organization, as appropriate.
  • Work closely with the Credit Analysts and administrators to maintain an effective and cohesive team.
