Dear Members:

We are pleased to report that 2019 was another year of significant growth and positive financial results. We increased both deposits and loans, and we are proud to share our Mortgage and Wealth Strategies teams assisted a record number of members. 

Our 370 team members now serve over 113,000 members all over the country. With 20 branches across our three geographic markets - the Southern Tier of NY, Greater Wilmington of NC, and Franklin County in PA – we look forward to continuing to grow together.

With your support, we are now one of the nation’s largest credit unions with almost $2 billion in assets under management. We are especially excited about our growth in North Carolina, and as a result opened a new regional office in 2019.

We are proud of our team’s accomplishments in 2019 and we remain committed to enhancing your overall banking experience in 2020 and beyond. Most importantly, we are deeply grateful for your trust in Corning Credit Union and for the opportunity to serve you

  • Live chat feature for real-time conversations with CCU representatives
    We’re excited to share that we’re working on a new live chat feature which will give you the ability to have a conversation real-time with a CCU representative within digital banking. We are expecting to launch this year!
  • A new widget to help manage your CCU cards within digital banking
    A new feature giving you the ability to control your card(s) within digital banking is in the works! This new feature will allow you to ‘freeze’ a card if it’s not actively being used or if it has been temporarily misplaced. You will also have the ability to order a replacement card if your card is lost or damaged.
  • Easily add new shares and loan accounts in the Quick Apply widget
    We’ve added more convenience to the Quick Apply widget in Digital Banking! In addition to being able to initiate a loan application through this widget, you are now able to add an All Purpose or Holiday Club account whenever and wherever is most convenient.
  • Borrow against the full value of your home for large expenses, home improvements, and home repairs
    We’re pleased to announce that members with limited equity in their homes may qualify for our 100% LTV Home Equity Advantage Line of Credit! Apply through the Quick Apply widget in Digital Banking, or contact us directly to get started today! Approval for financing subject to lending guidelines and credit qualifications.


Your Feedback Matters
As we continue to grow, our culture and exceptional service standards remain at the forefront of everything we do. Our “Voice of the Member” program generated 8,400 member surveys during the year with members giving us scores that place us in the top tier of credit unions we benchmark against. More importantly, we are listening to you and your feedback because it truly matters to us. If you receive a survey, please consider completing it. Our team reads every survey and we use each one as an opportunity to improve. As a result of the valuable input we received last year, we have implemented several service and process improvements. If you have not had the opportunity to share your feedback or would like to tell us more, we encourage you to let us know about your experience and how we’re doing.

Dear Members:

I am pleased to report that 2016 was another year of significant growth and positive financial results. Over the course of the year we added $7.9 million in net worth and achieved profitable results for the 37th consecutive year! This growth and profitability allows us to reinvest in products and services for our members. I wanted to take this opportunity to highlight some of our accomplishments in 2016 as well as provide some details on what you can expect to see in 2017.

In 2016 we were thrilled to have surpassed the 100,000 member mark worldwide. We are especially pleased to have hit the 20,000 member mark in our North Carolina market following the opening of our fourth branch, Porters Neck. Much of this growth is a result of the referrals our members give to their friends and family. If you love our world-class service, please consider sharing your story with your friends, family, and co-workers so they can grow with us, too.

Aside from the financial results and membership growth, 2016 was largely dedicated to making significant investments in our digital products to ensure ease of use for our members. Improvements were made to our mobile app that included a new look and feel as well as a new feature called Send Money – which allows members to transfer money to both members and non-members via PayPal®. In addition to Apple Pay®, which we launched in 2015, we launched Google Pay and Samsung Pay to make it possible for members with those devices to make payments simply and securely with their mobile phones. We also began offering Financial Institution Transfers, so members can transfer money to and from other financial institutions and Corning Credit Union. Lastly, we completed a website update to make our website easier to view and interact with on tablets and mobile devices.

As we move forward, we will continue our focus on growing member relationships and improving our digital product offerings. In order to better understand how our members feel about us and our products, we recently launched a new survey program. This program will get surveys out to more members annually and will allow us to gather more in-the-moment feedback from you. Your opinion is extremely valuable to us, so if you receive a survey, please take a moment to respond. For more information on these surveys, please see the article below.

We will also continue using member feedback to learn how we can improve our current products and also offer new ones that best meet our members’ needs. To this end, I am very excited to announce that we will be launching three new credit card products in 2017. Each of these new cards is designed with unique features to ensure that they meet member needs. Be sure to keep an eye out for more information on these cards in the upcoming months.

Overall, 2016 was another year of great accomplishment and I am very excited to see our continued growth in 2017. I would like to sincerely thank you for your support and trust. Our priority will always be providing world-class attention and service to every member, while offering the best possible products and services.

Dear Members:

I am pleased to introduce you to our new StraightTalk eNewsletter! The goal of this eNewsletter is to provide our members with relevant information and resources that are easy to access and intuitive to use. Our eNewsletter will offer the latest unbiased consumer and financial information, as well as the most up-to-date news about CCU.

For this first issue, I will highlight some of our most recent accomplishments and provide you with details of what you can expect to see in the upcoming months.

As online and mobile technology continues to advance, more and more members are using these channels as their primary methods of doing business with us. To ensure ease of use for our members, we have made significant investments to our online and mobile products. Most recently, we have made improvements to our eBranch online banking and Bill Pay services, we launched Apple Pay, Google Pay, and Samsung Pay (products that allow members to make purchases using their mobile devices), and began issuing cards with EMV chip technology.

To further develop our digital channels, recent updates have also been made to our website and mobile app to make both easier and intuitive to use for our members. Our improved mobile app includes a new look and feel, as well as a new feature called Send Money – which allows members to send money to both members and non-members via PayPal. As we move forward, members will notice additional improvements being made to our eBranch online banking system, with the goal of improved efficiency and security, as well as the release of a new credit card product.

In addition to these technological improvements, we continue to invest in our branch locations. For example, our fourth branch opened in the Wilmington, NC, area in February and we are working to grow our infrastructure to continue to support the more than 18,000 members that live in the area. Furthermore, we are undergoing renovations to make upgrades and improvements to our Elmira, NY, branch to create a better member experience.
