Student Branch Internships

A student branch is a credit union branch located inside a school. It is run by high school students who serve other students as well as faculty members. This program offers unique hands-on business, customer service, and professionalism education for student interns who volunteer to operate the branch and creates the opportunity to gain experience with personal finance and financial literacy. In addition to processing common bank transactions using real money and checks, student interns learn and provide product and service education, essentially becoming Member Service Representatives of the Credit Union.

Though it is not open to the public, the branch is structured much like any other location of CCU, and includes surveillance and security systems which create a safe environment that mimics what students and members experience in the real world. Interns utilize a custom version of CCU’s member service program that limits access to personal information and account balances, ensuring that confidentiality is maintained for students and faculty members conducting business. The interns are mentored by a CCU team member who is on site at all times to assist the student team and membership.

A student branch internship teaches many applicable and real-world workplace skills and looks phenomenal on a resume. If you are a student at one of our participating CCU Student Branch schools, please click here to complete an application for internship!
